On a 2005 Audi A8 Trunk lid will go down but, once it touches the seals it retracts and opens again. I have found that the micro switch inside upper latching mechanism is faulty. It dose not sand the signal that the trunk lid is latched and then opens. I would also check the alignment of the hinges....
